Summer, 2012 Greetings Parents and Middle School students from Ms. Wilson, Drama Specialist! I hope your summer has been wonderful. I’m excited to work with our middle school students in a more concentrated course of study during the 2012-2013 school year. I will teach two multi-age drama classes, two classes per week, as part of the Arts Core program. You will learn more about the Arts Core classes in the fall open house. Supply list: The drama supply list IS NOT included as part of the middle school supply list.It was inadvertently left off of the middle school supply list. The drama supply list is included below. You may also access the drama supply list on my blog: www.blog.bakerdemschool.org/lwilson. Stop by to say hello: Drama has a permanent home in Room 246, right next door to the music room. Please feel free to stop in during the last week of August to say hello. Middle School Show: Every three years, our students mount a fully produced play. This is the year for the middle school play! For our winter production, the Baker artist-in-residence will be working with our middle school students, faculty and staff. We will spend the winter quarter preparing all aspects of our production during school hours with the following additions. Please mark your calendars: There is a mandatory dress/tech rehearsal for ALL middle school students on Saturday, March 9 from 10-4 and on Wednesday, March 13 time tbd (a Baker conference day.) Show performance dates are Thursday, March 14th, Friday March 15th and Saturday, March 16th, 2013. (We added Sunday, March 17th as well) *All middle school students are expected to attend school and to be available for rehearsals, school and public performances the week of March 11—March 16, 2013. The middle school production happens once every three years. It is a special time for learning and building community with our students and faculty. Every child’s presence is important to the success of the project. I will provide more detailed information about the production in the fall. I’ll see you in August! From March through the end of this past school year, I took a medical leave during my daughter’s illness. I missed working with my students and I am happy to return for another eventful year of making art with Baker students.
